How to Play

You can play Keno by visiting any Michigan Lottery retailer. Follow the step-by-step guide below to take part:

1

Pick 10 numbers between 1 and 80. You can either select your own numbers or mark the ‘Easy Pick’ option to have a set of numbers randomly generated for you

2

Decide how many consecutive drawings you wish to play. You can enter up to 60 in a row by writing your number of selected draws in the ‘multiple draw wagers’ section

3

Pay the retailer for your ticket. Keno costs $1 per entry

If you already have a ticket from a previous draw (within the previous 31 days), you can ask for a Replay. The same numbers will then be reprinted in time for the next available draw. You need to purchase your tickets before the cut-off time of 7:08 p.m. each night, with sales then resuming at 7:10 p.m.

How to Win

You win the top prize if all 10 of the numbers on your ticket are drawn among the 22 winning numbers. You can also win by matching between six and nine of your numbers. There is even a prize if you match none of the winning numbers.

Prizes and Odds

There are six prize payout tiers in Keno. Players win the top prize if all ten of the numbers they pick are drawn among the 22 winning balls, but there are also prizes for matching six to nine numbers. Players who do not match a single number also receive a $1 Instant Ticket prize.

All prizes are fixed, including the $250,000 maximum, so players do not have to share prizes if there are multiple winners. The jackpot does not roll over. The following table shows all the different ways to win Keno prizes and the respective odds.

Numbers Matched Odds of Winning Prize
10 1 in 2,546,203 $250,000
9 1 in 57,070 $2,500
8 1 in 3,115 $250
7 1 in 313 $25
6 1 in 52 $7
0 1 in 32 $1
The overall odds of winning a Keno prize are 1 in 19

How to Claim a Prize

Michigan Keno prizes expire one year after the date of a drawing. Any prize unclaimed by this time will be distributed in accordance with state lottery regulations.

The exact claims procedure varies depending on how much you have won and whether you purchased your ticket in-store or online. Visit the Claiming Prizes page for more information.

Club Keno

Club Keno is another game that can be played in-store in Michigan, and follows a similar format. The difference is that draws take place every few minutes, rather than once a day, between 6:00 a.m. and 1:59 a.m.

You can choose how many numbers, known as spots, you want to select, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 10. You can also choose your bet amount from a range of options between $1 and $20.

The prizes available depend on various factors – the number of spots played, how many of them you match, and your bet amount. The highest available payout is $2 million, if you bet $20 on trying to match 10 numbers out of 10.
